About our firm
Our agency is an independent insurance and financial planning
firm operating in 30+ states. We specialize in heatlh savings
account plans for our self-employed and individual clients. Our services are provided at no charge to you in the anticipation that you will allow us the honor to become "agent of record" on your new HSA-qualified insurance policy.
The agency was founded in 1980 by C. Dean Richard, JD, MSBA. Mr. Richard is an experienced veteran of the
financial services industry, having entered the business as one
of the original agents with NASE (National Association for the Self-Employed). After representing several "association plans," he made the decision in the early 1990's to become 100% independent, thereby allowing his clients access to a variety of high quality plans underwritten by the highest quality
insurance companies.
In the late 1990's he became one of America's first agents to specialize in medical savings account plans--the predecessor to the HSA plan. His
early involvement in the consumer-driven health plan movement led him to become known as
"the HSA king."™

In the fall of 2007, Mr. Richard took a sabatical from his financial planning practice to answer the call of his alma mater law school. To fill a temporary voide, he returned to Texas Tech Law School for a semester to teach an advanced course in appellate advocacy. "Professor Richard" has subsequently returned full time to his insurance and financial planning practice.
